Brunehaut Biological Beers

Bio is trending, also in our beloved beer world. No longer hyped, bio proves an alternative to mass production. Beers consisting of purely natural products (isn’t this always?) are successful, eg Hommelbier, but what about taste? It depends we’ve found out and although some beers are masters in their kind, other still have lots of work to do before they can truly match their non-bio companions.

Brunehaut, earlier here with Saint-Martin, has a variety of bio-beers. We are proud to list them for you:

Brunehaut Ambrée Bio

  • GOLD, US Open Beer Championship, Gluten Free Beer, 2011.
  • SILVER, World Beer Championships (BRONZE for the Gluten Free variety).
  • GOLD, US Open Beer Championship, Gluten Free Beer, 2012.

Brunehaut Blond Bio

  • GOLD, BIRA, Fruit Beers, 2011.
  • SILVER, US Open Beer Championship, Gluten Free Beer, 2011.
  • BRONZE, World Beer Championships (BRONZE for the Gluten Free variety).
  • SILVER, US Open Beer Championship, Gluten Free Beer, 2012.

Westmalle tripel

The beer that started it all, the mother of tripels. This beer is still a landmark on its own. Renowned around the world by experts and amateurs, a Westmalle tripel is not something you drink casually. It’s the well examined process of tasting and savoring, of degustation with care. Perhaps it’s just the whole ritual of beer loving, all in one glass.

What it may be, a Westmalle tripel is on the highest level and pays tribute to its peers amongst the other Trappist breweries. It is a shame that it only has been awarded twice. We are proud of our Westmalle and you should be too!

  • BRONZE, World Beer Cup, Belgian-Style Tripel, 2008.
  • GOLD, World Beer Cup, Belgian-Style Tripel, 2012.

Boon Geuze

Geuze, Belgian heritage as we’ve said before. Ofter referred to as champagne amongst beer types. Its natural fermentation with wild yeast (as the story goes) and that typically sour taste are two reasons well worth enough to put this geuze by Boon on our award page.

Gold color, white head of foam, strong carbonation, three key ingredients to make this geuze a true succes story!

  • SILVER, World Beer Cup, Belgian Style Sour Ale, 2004 (for Boon Geuze Marriage Parfaite).
  • GOLD, World Beer Cup, Belgian Style Sour Ale, 2008.
  • SILVER, World Beer Cup, Belgian Style Sour Ale, 2010.
  • GOLD, World Beer Cup, Belgian Style Sour Ale, 2010 (for Boon Geuze Marriage Parfaite).
  • GOLD, World Beer Cup, Belgian Style Sour Ale, 2012
